Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) has been selected as a recipient of a significant grant awarded by the Biden-Harris Administration, under the Airport Terminal Program of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This initiative, part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda, allocates nearly $1 billion in grants aimed at enhancing 114 airports across the United States. CLE has been granted $4,800,000 to invigorate its aviation infrastructure, ensuring the airport remains a pivotal contributor to the nation’s air travel system and the regional economy.
This grant program, administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), is a component of the Administration’s commitment to revitalize the nation’s infrastructure. It supports projects that will elevate passenger experience, increase accessibility, and promote sustainability, while simultaneously generating valuable employment opportunities. The investments at CLE will include rehabilitating terminal wall surfaces, replacing tunnel ceilings, waterproofing the membrane in the tramway tunnel, and installing a new drainage system at the intermodal terminus of Greater Cleveland RTA’s public rapid-transit rail service. These enhancements are expected to significantly bolster the region’s economic vitality by improving travel experiences, creating jobs, and laying the groundwork for further advancements in our transportation infrastructure.
Soaring to new heights, together.
